Greetings!

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2016 Charleston Area CALEA Fall Conference. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is proud to co-host this conference alongside our partner host agencies.

It is a privilege and honor that the Charleston Lowcountry was chosen as the site of this important gathering of distinguished local, national, and international professionals. Since 1977, the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement has continued to further the goals and enhance the practices and standards for law enforcement, communications, training academies and campus security throughout the nation. During this conference you will have the opportunity to attend various workshops, as well a.s view the latest technological advances within our profession. There will be many opportunities to network with peers, key government officials and subject experts. Now more than ever, our profession stands to benefit from a continued and collective effort to meet the complex challenges we all face. CALEA accreditation embodies the leadership and professionalism needed to do so successfully.

We have worked hard to make this a memorable and meaningful conference. I invite you to participate in the many planned activities that have been put together for you, as well as the countless opportunities to explore the history, culture, and sights the Lowcountry has to offer.

As the Chairman of Charleston County Council, it gives me great pleasure to welcome all participants, family and guests attending the 2016 Charleston Area CALEA Fall Conference. The Charleston area host agencies are delighted to have been chosen as the 2016 fall conference destination. They have prepared an excellent conference; providing many opportunities to network, exchange best practices and strengthen professional knowledge and skills.

As a sponsoring agency for the Charleston-Area CALEA Conference, the executive board and members of the South Carolina Police Accreditation Coalition (SCPAC) would like to welcome all of our conference attendees to our beautiful State of South Carolina. We hope that you enjoy our southern hospitality and the various activities that have been planned for your enjoyment.

The South Carolina Police Accreditation Coalition (SC PAC) exists to improve the quality and delivery of law enforcement services to the citizens of its communities, by endorsing and assisting in the processes of national and state accreditation. SC PAC provides technical assistance to agencies in all phases of accreditation, from file setup and documentation, to policy and procedure writing.

We know that with your help, this will be a successful conference and hope that your experience will be an educational and productive one.
